Dr. Srivastava was first introduced to the field of Radiation Oncology when his brother-in-law was diagnosed with a glioblastoma. This experience showed Dr. Srivastava that a cancer diagnosis affects both a patient and their family and taught him to experience cancer care from the patient's perspective. Dr. Srivastava was amazed by how a radiation oncologist can support both patients and families during one of the most difficult times of their lives and integrate advances in cancer care into the clinic to directly improve the lives of their patients.
